TiviMate Multiview: Split Screen, Layouts and Requirements

TiviMate multiview lets you watch several live channels on one screen at the same time, which is the closest thing to a sports bar wall on a single TV. Does TiviMate have multiview? Yes, but at the time of writing it is a Premium feature, so the free version will not open it. This guide covers how to open it, the layouts, how audio switching works, how many connections your provider must allow, and which devices can actually keep up.

If you have not installed the app or added a playlist yet, start with our TiviMate setup guide. Menu names vary by version, so if a label on your screen is slightly different, look for the closest match.

Multiview, split screen and PiP: what TiviMate actually offers

People search for this feature under different names. Here is how they map to TiviMate:

What you searchedWhat it means in TiviMateNotes
tivimate multiview / multi screenMulti-view: several channels in tiles on one screenPremium feature at the time of writing
tivimate split screenA two-tile multi-view layout, side by sideSame feature, just two channels
tivimate pipPicture-in-picture: a small window over another channel or appDepends on your device and app version; multi-view is the dependable option

TiviMate’s Google Play listing names multiview among its features, alongside the TV guide, catch-up, recording and parental controls. Android TV system picture-in-picture is handled by the device, and support for it varies between models and Android versions. If you mainly want two games side by side, use multi-view rather than chasing PiP.

Before you start: Premium, connections and bandwidth

1. TiviMate Premium

Multi-view is unlocked with TiviMate Premium, bought through the official TiviMate Companion app on an Android phone. We do not quote a price because it has changed over time; check the Companion app on the day you buy. Our guide on whether TiviMate is free explains what the free version includes and how the upgrade works. Avoid “free Premium” APKs: modified apps get no updates and can carry malware that steals your logins.

2. Enough connections from your provider

This is the step most people miss. Every tile in multi-view is its own live stream, so it uses its own connection on your IPTV account. Two tiles need two connections, four tiles need four. If your plan allows only one connection, the second tile will fail to load or the first one will stop.

LayoutStreams openConnections neededRough bandwidth (HD)
Single channel11One HD stream
Split screen (2 tiles)22About twice a single stream
Quad (4 tiles)44About four times a single stream
Larger gridsOne per tileOne per tileGrows with every tile

Recording while using multi-view adds one more connection. Ask your provider how many connections your plan includes before you build a four-game setup. Your account details or welcome message usually state the connection limit.

3. A device with enough power

Each tile has to be decoded at the same time. Two HD tiles run on most modern streaming sticks. Four tiles push budget sticks hard, and you may see stutter, black tiles or decoder errors. A stronger box such as an NVIDIA Shield handles larger layouts far better; our NVIDIA Shield IPTV guide explains why.

  • Budget sticks: plan on two tiles, maybe three with lower-resolution channels.
  • Newer mid-range sticks (for example Fire TV Stick 4K Max class): two to four HD tiles is a realistic target.
  • High-end boxes (NVIDIA Shield class): four tiles is comfortable on a good connection.
  • Wired Ethernet helps every device, because multi-view multiplies the bandwidth you need.

These are practical guidelines, not test results. Your channels’ resolution and bitrate change the picture, so start small and add tiles.

How to open multi-view in TiviMate

The flow below matches recent versions. Labels and icon positions can move between updates.

  1. Make sure Premium is active on the device (check the Premium or account section in Settings).
  2. Start playing a live channel you want in the first tile.
  3. Open the playback options: press OK (Select) while watching, or the menu button on remotes that have one, and look for the Multi-view option.
  4. Pick a layout, such as two tiles side by side or a four-tile grid.
  5. Highlight an empty tile and press OK to choose a channel for it from your channel list or favorites.
  6. Repeat for each tile. Channels can come from any playlist you have added.
  7. Press Back to leave multi-view, or select a tile to make it the full-screen channel, depending on your version.

Tip: build a “Game day” favorites group before kickoff. Picking four channels from a short favorites list is much faster than scrolling hundreds of channels with a remote. Our TiviMate tips and tricks cover favorites and other speed-ups.

Layouts and audio switching

Choosing a layout

TiviMate offers several layouts, from two-tile split screen up to larger grids. Four equal tiles is the most popular choice for sports because there is no wasted space and every game is the same size. A layout with one large tile and smaller tiles works better when one game matters most and the others are for scores.

Which tile plays sound

Only one tile plays audio at a time. Audio follows the tile you have highlighted, so move the focus with the arrow keys to hear a different channel. This makes it easy to keep the main game’s commentary on and jump to another tile when something happens there.

Swapping a channel

Highlight the tile, press OK and pick a new channel. The other tiles keep playing. If one tile freezes, swapping it to the same channel again is a quick way to restart that single stream.

Fixing common multi-view problems

ProblemLikely causeFix
Multi-view option is missingPremium not active, or old app versionCheck Premium status and update TiviMate
Second tile will not loadProvider allows only one connectionAsk your provider about extra connections

If a single channel buffers even outside multi-view, the problem is the stream or your network, not the feature. Fix that first.

Is TiviMate multiview worth it?

If you follow several games at once, such as NFL Sundays, college football Saturdays or a full night of soccer, multi-view is one of the best reasons to pay for Premium. If you watch one channel at a time, it adds little. Check the three requirements together: Premium, enough connections and a capable device.

TiviMate ships no channels; multi-view only shows what your service provides. If you need a service, our plan, IPTV Journal, is 12 months for $89 with an Xtream Codes login and EPG that work in TiviMate. See the plan details and confirm how many connections fit your setup. IPTV technology is legal, but use services that hold the rights to their channels.

FAQ

Does TiviMate have multiview?

Yes. TiviMate includes a multi-view mode that shows several channels on one screen. At the time of writing it requires TiviMate Premium, which you buy through the official TiviMate Companion app.

How many channels can I watch at once in TiviMate?

The app offers layouts from two tiles to larger grids, but the real limit is usually your provider’s connection count and your device’s power. Each tile uses one connection. Four tiles is a practical maximum for most people.

Is TiviMate split screen the same as multi-view?

Yes. Split screen is simply the two-tile multi-view layout, with two channels side by side. It needs Premium and two connections from your provider.

Does TiviMate support picture-in-picture?

Picture-in-picture on Android TV depends on the device, the Android version and the app version, so behavior varies. For watching two channels together, multi-view is the more reliable choice inside TiviMate.

Why does one tile go black when I add another?

Usually your provider’s connection limit has been reached, so the newest stream pushes out an older one. It can also mean the device cannot decode that many streams. Try fewer tiles or ask your provider about extra connections.
