Sportsnet Plus Price 2026: Standard vs Premium Explained

The Sportsnet Plus price in 2026 is $34.99 per month or $269.99 per year for Standard, and $44.99 per month or $344.99 per year for Premium, before tax. Those prices took effect with the first billing cycle on or after September 22, 2026, a week before the new NHL season started.

That is another increase in a short span, and it lands in the first year of Rogers’ new 12-year national NHL deal. Below we break down what changed, what each tier includes, and how to decide whether Sportsnet+ is worth it for your household.

Sportsnet+ prices at a glance

Here is how the plans compare at the time of writing, using the figures Rogers announced in July 2026.

PlanOld monthlyNew monthlyOld annualNew annual
Standard$29.99$34.99$249.99$269.99
Premium$42.99$44.99$324.99$344.99
Standard + Citytv+ bundle$31.99$36.99n/an/a

The biggest jump is on monthly Standard, which rose $5. Premium rose only $2 a month, which narrows the gap between the two tiers to $10. Annual Standard went up $20 and annual Premium also went up $20.

What Sportsnet+ Standard includes

Standard is the plan most Canadian sports fans need. According to Rogers’ description of the plans, it covers:

  • Regional broadcasts of the Maple Leafs, Oilers, Flames and Canucks
  • National NHL nights, including Saturday Night Hockey and the new streaming-exclusive Monday Night Hockey
  • Stanley Cup Playoffs games on Sportsnet
  • More than 150 Blue Jays games and the MLB postseason on Sportsnet
  • Around 41 Raptors games and select NBA playoff matchups
  • Combat sports and TNA Wrestling

For a Leafs, Oilers, Flames or Canucks fan who also follows the Jays, Standard is very broad coverage for the money.

What Premium adds

Premium includes everything in Standard and adds more than 1,100 out-of-market NHL games, which means US-versus-US matchups and other teams’ local broadcasts. It also adds extra international events under the SN World banner, such as FA Cup football and rugby.

At $10 more per month, Premium is mainly worth it for fans of a US-based NHL team, hockey completists and fantasy players who want to watch any game.

What Sportsnet+ does not include

It is worth knowing the gaps before you pay, because several big properties sit elsewhere in 2026-27.

  • Wednesday NHL games: exclusive to Prime Video in Canada, plus three playoff series a year.
  • Senators, Jets and Canadiens regional games: these have been on TSN and RDS.
  • CFL, World Juniors and most NFL coverage: on TSN, CTV and DAZN.
  • Champions League and NFL Game Pass: on DAZN.

Monthly vs annual: which saves more?

If you watch most of the year, the annual plans are clearly cheaper. Here is a simple calculation using current prices.

  1. Standard monthly for 12 months: 12 x $34.99 = $419.88. Annual Standard is $269.99, saving about $150.
  2. Premium monthly for 12 months: 12 x $44.99 = $539.88. Annual Premium is $344.99, saving about $195.
  3. Standard monthly for an eight-month NHL season, October to May: about $280, which is more than the annual plan.

The takeaway: if you will subscribe for more than about eight months, buy annual. If you only want the playoffs or a short Jays stretch, monthly is more flexible.

How Sportsnet+ fits with Prime Video and TSN

Sportsnet+ is the core of hockey streaming in Canada, but it is not everything. Prime Video’s Wednesday games come with an Amazon Prime membership, and TSN’s streaming subscription covers its regional NHL games and the CFL.

Ways to pay less for Sportsnet+

Rogers does not discount often, but there are some legitimate ways to reduce what you pay.

  • Go annual. As shown above, it is the single biggest saving.
  • Check your provider bundles. Some internet or wireless plans have included or discounted Sportsnet+ at times. Check your provider’s current offers.
  • Pause between seasons. If you only watch hockey, cancel in June and resubscribe in October on monthly billing.
  • Pick the right tier. Many fans pay for Premium but only watch their own Canadian team, which Standard already covers.

Avoid sellers offering “Sportsnet+ for $5” or shared logins. Those are not authorized and accounts can be shut off without warning. If you want broader live TV beyond sports, our own plan, IPTV Journal, is $89 for 12 months on all devices, and you can read about it in our pricing section. We still recommend Sportsnet+ itself for licensed Rogers sports content.

Is Sportsnet+ worth it in 2026?

For fans of the four Sportsnet regional NHL teams, yes. No other legal service gives you their regional games, national nights and Sportsnet’s playoff schedule in one app. Blue Jays fans also get almost the entire season.

It is harder to justify if you follow the Senators, Jets or Canadiens, whose regional games have been with TSN or RDS, or if you mainly watch Wednesday games, which are on Prime Video. In those cases, Sportsnet+ becomes one piece of a larger stack.
