What NFL Sunday Ticket includes
Sunday Ticket is the only legal way to watch out-of-market Sunday afternoon games in the US. If you live in Texas and follow the Packers, it shows you every Packers Sunday afternoon game that your local CBS or FOX station does not carry.
- Every out-of-market Sunday afternoon game, live, in the regular season.
- Multiview: you can build your own multiview, and RedZone subscribers can add RedZone into it.
- Unlimited DVR when you watch through the YouTube TV app.
- Streaming on TVs, phones, tablets and computers through YouTube or YouTube TV.
What Sunday Ticket does not include
This is where many fans are surprised. Sunday Ticket covers only one slice of the season.
- Local Sunday games: games on your local CBS or FOX station are not in the package. You watch those with an antenna, YouTube TV, Paramount+ or FOX One.
- Primetime: Sunday Night Football (NBC and Peacock), Monday Night Football (ESPN and ABC) and Thursday Night Football (Prime Video) are not included.
- Special games: Thanksgiving games, the Netflix games and other national exclusives are excluded.
- Preseason and playoffs: neither is part of the package.

Real season cost: Sunday Ticket plus the rest
Sunday Ticket is a season price, but most fans also want local and primetime games. Here is what the full setup costs.
| Setup | What you get | Rough cost |
|---|---|---|
| Antenna + Sunday Ticket standalone | Local CBS, FOX and NBC games plus all out-of-market Sunday games | $480 + one-time antenna |
| YouTube TV base + Sunday Ticket | Locals, ESPN, NFL Network and all Sunday games in one app | About $82.99/mo + $378 |
| YouTube TV Sports plan + Sunday Ticket | Broadcast networks, ESPN networks, NFL Network, FS1, plus Sunday Ticket | About $64.99/mo + $378 |
| New user offer + antenna | Out-of-market Sundays plus free local games | About $240 + one-time antenna |
YouTube also offered new subscribers who bundle Sunday Ticket with the YouTube TV Sports plan a reduced Sports plan price of around $54.99 a month for the first 12 months. As always, check the offer terms, because introductory prices renew at the regular rate.
How to get the lowest Sunday Ticket price
- Check if you qualify as a new subscriber. The $240 offer is the biggest discount on the list.
- If you are a student, verify through SheerID for the $119 price.
- Teachers, service members, veterans, first responders and medical workers should verify through ID.me for about $198.
- Look at the monthly payment option if $378 or $480 upfront is too much. It splits the season over eight months but does not lower the total.
- Skip RedZone if you mainly follow one team. It is aimed at fans who want every scoring play across the league.
Is Sunday Ticket worth it in 2026?
It depends almost entirely on where you live. If your favorite team plays in your local market, most of its Sunday games are already on free TV with an antenna (see our guide to the best TV antenna for local channels), and Sunday Ticket adds little. If you are a displaced fan, it is the only legal way to see every Sunday afternoon game of your team.
If price is the main concern, our guide to the cheapest way to watch NFL games compares every legal option, starting with a free antenna.
Some fans also look at IPTV subscriptions for broad sports coverage. Our own plan, IPTV Journal, is $89 for 12 months. IPTV as a technology is legal, but only licensed services can legally carry NFL games, so check what any provider is authorized to show in your area.
