How to Update TiviMate, Refresh, Reset and Maintain It

How to update TiviMate depends on where you installed it. On Android TV, Google TV and the NVIDIA Shield, update it from Google Play. On Fire TV, where it is sideloaded, install the newer version from the official link on tivimate.com over the top of the old one. This maintenance guide also covers refreshing your playlist and EPG, clearing cache, backing up before a reset, logging out, changing language and setting a parental control PIN.

Menu names vary by version, so if a label differs slightly, look for the closest match in Settings. For first-time installation, use our TiviMate setup guide.

Update TiviMate on Android TV, Google TV and Shield

  1. Open the Google Play Store on the TV device.
  2. Search for TiviMate IPTV Player (developer Armobsoft FZE) and open its page.
  3. If an update is available, select Update.
  4. Optional: turn on automatic updates in the Play Store settings so you stay current.

What is the latest TiviMate version?

Version numbers change often, so we do not list one here. At the time of writing, the Google Play listing showed an update in June 2026. The Play Store page or tivimate.com always shows what is current, and the version on your device appears in TiviMate’s settings or in the device’s app info screen.

Update TiviMate on Fire TV

TiviMate is not in the Amazon Appstore, so Fire TV devices do not update it automatically.

  1. Open the Downloader app (or the browser you used for the original install).
  2. Enter the official download address shown on tivimate.com. Do not use codes or links from third-party sites.
  3. Download and install the new version over the existing app. Your playlists and settings normally stay in place.
  4. Delete the downloaded installer file afterwards to free storage.

Make a backup first (see below) in case anything goes wrong. Fire TV models differ, so check yours with our Firestick model guide.

How to refresh TiviMate: playlist and EPG

Refreshing pulls in new channels and guide data without reinstalling anything.

What to refreshWhere to find itWhen to do it
PlaylistSettings, Playlists, select your playlist, then the update optionProvider added channels or changed the lineup
TV guide (EPG)Settings, EPG, then the update optionGuide is empty, outdated or shifted in time
Auto-update intervalInside the playlist and EPG settingsSet it so updates happen while you are not watching

If the guide stays empty after a refresh, the EPG source is usually the cause. Our EPG not loading fix walks through it.

Clear cache, back up and reset

Clear cache

Clearing cache removes temporary files and is safe. Clearing data is a full reset that erases playlists, favorites and settings.

  • Android TV / Google TV: Settings, Apps, TiviMate, Clear cache.
  • Fire TV: Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, TiviMate, Clear cache.

Back up before a reset

TiviMate can save your playlists, favorites and settings to a backup file from its settings menu, and restore them later. Save the file to a USB drive or a folder you can reach from the new device. Do this before any reset, reinstall or device swap. Our TiviMate user guide covers the backup screen in more detail.

How to reset TiviMate

  1. Make a backup inside TiviMate.
  2. Go to the device’s app settings for TiviMate and choose Clear data (or Clear storage).
  3. Open TiviMate, sign in to Premium again if you use it, then restore your backup or add your playlist fresh.

Uninstalling and reinstalling has the same effect, so a reset is the better first step.

Log out, remove a playlist and manage Premium

TiviMate has no single “log out” button for your IPTV service, because the login lives inside each playlist.

  • To log out of a provider: go to Settings, Playlists, select the playlist and delete it. The channels and guide from that playlist disappear.
  • To change provider: add the new playlist first, check it works, then remove the old one.
  • To manage Premium devices: use the TiviMate Companion app, which its Google Play listing says lets you manage your activated devices. This is the place to free a slot when you replace a stick.

Parental control and language settings

TiviMate parental control

  1. Open Settings and find Parental control.
  2. Set a PIN you will remember, and do not share it with children.
  3. Lock individual channels or whole groups. Locked content asks for the PIN before it plays.
  4. Hide adult or late-night groups as well, so they do not appear in the guide.

TiviMate change language

TiviMate generally follows your device’s system language. Change it in the device settings (on Android TV and Google TV it is usually under Settings, System, Language) and reopen TiviMate. Preferred audio and subtitle languages, where your version offers them, sit in TiviMate’s playback settings. Channel names and guide text come from your provider and will not change.

A simple monthly maintenance routine

  • Check for an app update (automatic on Google Play, manual on Fire TV).
  • Refresh the playlist and EPG if the lineup changed.
  • Clear cache if the app feels slow.
  • Make a fresh backup after you change favorites or groups.
  • Restart the device once in a while to free memory.

Maintenance keeps the app healthy, but stream quality still depends on your service. Our plan, IPTV Journal, is 12 months for $89 with an Xtream Codes login and EPG that work in TiviMate; see the plan details. Avoid “Premium unlocked” APKs: they never receive official updates and can carry malware.

FAQ

How do I update TiviMate on a Firestick?

Download the latest version from the official link on tivimate.com using the Downloader app or a browser, then install it over the existing app. Your settings normally stay. Back up first just in case.

How do I refresh TiviMate channels?

Go to Settings, Playlists, select your playlist and use the update option. For the guide, use the update option in the EPG settings. Menu names vary slightly by version.

Will clearing cache delete my playlists?

No. Clearing cache only removes temporary files. Clearing data or storage is what erases playlists, favorites and settings, so back up before you do that.

How do I log out of TiviMate?

Delete the playlist from Settings, Playlists. That removes the provider login and its channels. Premium devices are managed separately in the TiviMate Companion app.

How do I reset the TiviMate parental PIN?

Change it in the Parental control settings if you know the current PIN. If you have forgotten it, clearing the app’s data resets everything, so restore from a backup afterwards.
