IPTV Smarters Pro is a free IPTV player app made by WHMCS Smarters. You install it on your phone, TV or computer, sign in with the login from your IPTV service, and it turns that service into a TV-style screen with live channels, movies, series and a TV guide. The app itself has no channels: everything you watch comes from the subscription you add to it.
This guide covers everything in one place: where to download the real app on each device, how to log in, the settings worth changing, what it costs, and what to do when it stops working. Each section links to a deeper guide if you need more detail.

IPTV Smarters Pro download: the official version for each device
The most important rule: only install the app from the developer or an official app store, and check that the publisher is WHMCS Smarters. Many lookalike apps use “Smarters” in their name, and modified copies passed around with download codes can carry malware or stop working without warning.
| Device | Official route (at the time of writing) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Android phone or tablet | Download from the developer’s official website, iptvsmarters.com | Store listings come and go; if you find it in Google Play, check the publisher is WHMCS Smarters |
| Fire TV Stick (Fire OS) | Install the Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore, then type the developer’s official download address | Newer Vega OS models such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select cannot sideload apps |
| Android TV / Google TV | Developer’s website, or the Play Store on your TV if it is listed there | Same publisher check applies |
| iPhone, iPad, Apple TV | “Smarters Player Lite” in the App Store, published by WHMCS Smarters | Free, with an optional premium in-app purchase |
| Samsung Smart TV | Search the Samsung app store for IPTV Smarters Pro by WHMCS Smarters | Availability can vary by TV model and region |
| Windows and Mac | Desktop installer from the developer’s website | We could not find an official Microsoft Store listing when writing this |
| Roku | Not available | Roku does not allow sideloading; plug a Fire TV or Android TV device into another HDMI port instead |

How to install IPTV Smarters Pro on a Firestick
- Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then About, and check your model. Fire OS sticks can install the app; Vega OS sticks cannot.
- Search the Amazon Appstore for Downloader and install it.
- Go back to My Fire TV, open Developer Options, choose Install unknown apps, and turn it on for Downloader. If Developer Options is hidden, click your device name in the About screen seven times.
- Open Downloader and type the download address from the developer’s official website. Avoid short numeric codes shared in videos or comments, because you cannot tell where they lead.
- Install the app, then go back and switch Install unknown apps off again for safety.
- Open IPTV Smarters Pro and follow the login steps below.
How to log in to IPTV Smarters Pro
When you open the app for the first time, it asks how you want to add your service. Your IPTV provider’s welcome email tells you which option to use.
| Login type | What you enter | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Xtream Codes API | A name of your choice, username, password and server URL | Most providers; gives separate Live TV, Movies and Series sections and loads the TV guide automatically |
| M3U playlist URL | One long playlist link | Providers that only send a link |
| Playlist file | An .m3u file saved on the device | Your own playlists |
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API (or Load your playlist or file URL for M3U).
- Type any name, for example “Home TV”.
- Enter the username and password exactly as written. They are case-sensitive.
- Enter the server URL including
http://and the port number if there is one, for examplehttp://example.com:8080. - Tap Add User, wait for channels, movies and the guide to download, then open Live TV.
Our full IPTV Smarters Pro setup guide covers adding the TV guide manually, using two playlists and logging in on every type of device. If the words “server URL” and “Xtream Codes” are new to you, Xtream Codes login explained breaks them down.
The best settings to change first
- Player selection: in Settings, try the built-in player first. If a channel stutters or has no sound, switch to the alternative player or an external player such as VLC.
- Automatic EPG update: turn it on so the TV guide refreshes by itself.
- Time format and time shift: if programme times in the guide are off by an hour or more, correct the time shift in the EPG settings.
- Parental control: set a PIN and lock adult or late-night categories, especially on a family TV.
- Favourites: long-press a channel to add it to favourites. A short favourites list is much faster to browse than thousands of channels.
- Multi-screen: watch several channels at once on one screen, if your plan allows enough connections.
How much does IPTV Smarters Pro cost?
There are two separate costs, and many websites blur them on purpose:
- The app: free on most devices. The Apple version, Smarters Player Lite, has an optional premium unlock listed at $1.99 in the US at the time of writing.
- The IPTV service: the channels you watch come from a separate provider, at that provider’s price. WHMCS Smarters does not sell TV subscriptions.
So if a website offers an “IPTV Smarters Pro subscription”, it is selling its own service and using the app’s name. Read IPTV Smarters Pro cost: app price vs service price and what an IPTV Smarters subscription really is before you pay anyone.
Choosing a service to use with IPTV Smarters Pro
Because the app works with any service that supports Xtream Codes or M3U, the quality you get depends almost entirely on the provider. Before paying, check these points:
- It gives you an Xtream Codes login, not just an M3U link, so movies, series and the TV guide load properly.
- The number of connections covers every screen in your home.
- You can pay by card, not only crypto or gift cards, and there is a written refund policy.
- There is a support contact you can reach before you buy.
- It is licensed for what it carries. IPTV technology and player apps are legal; services that rebroadcast channels without permission are not, so check the rules where you live.
IPTV Journal sells its own plan, which works with IPTV Smarters Pro: 12 months for $89 (about $7.40 a month), with an Xtream Codes login, live channels, movies and series, HD and 4K where available, 24/7 support and a 7-day money-back guarantee. IPTV Smarters Pro not working? Quick fixes
| Problem | Most likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| “Invalid login” or authentication failed | A typo, a missing http:// or port, or an expired subscription | Re-enter the details exactly; ask your provider if the account is active |
| Channels load but will not play | Player or network issue | Switch the player in Settings, restart the device, try a wired connection |
| Buffering and freezing | Weak Wi-Fi or a busy server | Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, clear the app cache, test another channel |
| Empty TV guide | EPG not loaded or wrong time shift | Refresh the EPG in Settings and correct the time shift |
| Movies or series missing | M3U login instead of Xtream Codes | Log in with the Xtream Codes details instead |

IPTV Smarters Pro alternatives
IPTV Smarters Pro is simple and works on many devices, but its TV guide is basic. If you mainly watch live TV on a Fire TV or Android TV box, TiviMate gives a more cable-like guide, while VLC is a light option for simple M3U links. On Apple devices, look at App Store players that support Xtream Codes. Compare them in TiviMate vs IPTV Smarters and our list of IPTV Smarters Pro alternatives.
Is IPTV Smarters Pro right for you?
- Pick IPTV Smarters Pro if you want one free app that looks the same on your phone, Fire TV and computer, with separate sections for live TV, movies and series.
- Pick TiviMate if you watch mostly live TV on Android TV or Fire TV and want the best TV guide.
- Pick VLC if you only need to play a simple M3U link now and then.
- On Roku, add a Fire TV or Android TV device, because the app is not available there.
FAQ
Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?
Yes, the app is free on most devices. The Apple version offers an optional premium unlock. You still need to pay a separate IPTV provider for the channels you watch.
Does IPTV Smarters Pro come with channels?
No. It is only a player. The developer states in its store listings that the app does not provide or include any media or content. You add channels by logging in with a subscription from an IPTV service.
Where is the safe IPTV Smarters Pro download?
Use the developer’s official website or an official app store, and check that the publisher is WHMCS Smarters. Avoid modified versions and random download codes, which can contain malware.
Is IPTV Smarters Pro legal?
The app itself is legal, like any video player. What matters is the service you load into it: licensed services are legal, while services that rebroadcast channels without permission are not. Check what your provider is allowed to offer and the rules where you live.
Can I use IPTV Smarters Pro on more than one device?
Yes. Install the app on each device and log in with the same details. How many devices can watch at the same time depends on the number of connections in your IPTV plan, so ask your provider. See how to watch IPTV on two devices at once.
Why does IPTV Smarters Pro say my login is invalid?
Usually a small typo: a missing http://, a missing port number such as :8080, or a capital letter in the password. If everything is correct, the subscription may have expired or reached its connection limit, so contact your provider.
