How to Watch NBA in Canada: Prime Video, TSN and Sportsnet

If you are working out how to watch NBA in Canada this season, there are now three main pieces. Prime Video has 66 national regular-season games plus big playoff rounds, TSN and Sportsnet share the Raptors and other national games, and NBA League Pass covers out-of-market matchups. All of them can be streamed without cable.

The 2026-27 season is the first of Amazon’s 11-year global NBA deal, which brought a serious package of games to Canadian Prime members. This guide explains who shows what and how to put together the right setup for your budget.

Who shows NBA games in Canada in 2026-27?

Here is the broad picture based on announced deals. Exact games are set in each broadcaster’s schedule, so check listings weekly.

NBA on Prime Video in Canada

Amazon’s deal is the biggest change this season. MobileSyrup reported that Prime Video in Canada carries 66 regular-season games, the 2026 Emirates NBA Cup, all six games of the 2027 Play-In Tournament, and exclusive first- and second-round playoff games. Starting in 2027, Prime Video also has an exclusive Conference Finals series in six of the deal’s 11 years.

These games come with Amazon Prime, which Daily Hive listed at around $9.99 per month in July 2026. For many casual fans, Prime alone now covers a good share of the big national games.

Raptors games on Sportsnet and TSN

Raptors games are split between Rogers and Bell. Rogers says Sportsnet+ Standard includes around 41 Raptors games, which is roughly half the regular season, along with select NBA playoff matchups. The remaining Raptors games have been on TSN.

To follow the Raptors closely without cable, you will likely need both:

• Sportsnet+ Standard: $34.99 per month or $269.99 per year since September 22, 2026.
• TSN streaming: around $29.99 per month or $244.99 per year, per Daily Hive in July 2026.

MobileSyrup also noted that Sportsnet and TSN can be added as Prime Video Channels, which lets you manage everything in one app. Check current Prime Video Channels pricing before subscribing.

NBA League Pass in Canada

NBA League Pass streams out-of-market games live and on demand through the NBA app. It is ideal if you follow a US team like the Lakers or Celtics. However, games shown nationally or regionally in Canada, including Raptors games, are typically blacked out live on League Pass. Check the NBA app for current Canadian pricing and blackout details before you buy.

Three sample setups

1. Casual fan: Amazon Prime only, for national games, the NBA Cup, the Play-In and early playoff rounds.
2. Raptors fan: Sportsnet+ Standard plus TSN, with Prime for national windows.
3. US team fan: NBA League Pass plus Prime.

Approximate monthly costs

Here is how the main options compare at the time of writing. All prices are in CAD before tax and change often, so confirm on each service’s site.

A full Raptors setup with Prime, Sportsnet+ and TSN comes to roughly $75 per month on monthly billing, so the annual plans make sense if you also use Sportsnet and TSN for hockey or the CFL.

Devices and picture quality

Prime Video, Sportsnet+, TSN and the NBA app all run on major streaming devices, smart TVs and phones. Basketball is fast, so a stable connection matters. Our streaming device guide lists strong options, and our 4K requirements guide explains the bandwidth you need if you want the sharpest picture.

Stay with licensed streams

Unofficial NBA streams spread every game night on social media. They are unlicensed, unreliable and often packed with malware. Rebroadcasting Sportsnet or TSN without permission is copyright infringement in Canada, and blackout rules should be respected rather than bypassed with VPNs.

If you also want a general live TV package for news and entertainment, our own plan, IPTV Journal, is $89 for 12 months on all devices; you can read about it in our pricing section. For NBA games, the official services above are the way to go.

Which NBA option is right for you?

If you are a casual fan, start with Amazon Prime and see if its national games are enough. Raptors fans need both Sportsnet and TSN for the full season, and can add Prime for national games involving Toronto. Fans of a US team should look at NBA League Pass first. You can always add or drop services month to month as the season develops.
