Prime Video UK sport has become more focused in the last couple of seasons. In 2026/27 its headline live sport is the Champions League, with first pick of the Tuesday night matches, plus a large NBA package. It no longer shows live Premier League football, and some other sport is only available through paid add-on channels such as DAZN.
Here is what is included with a standard Prime membership, what costs extra and what Prime Video does not have.
What sport is on Prime Video UK
| Sport | What Prime Video shows | Included with Prime? |
|---|---|---|
| UEFA Champions League | 17 exclusive Tuesday night matches in 2026/27, from the league phase to the semi-finals | Yes |
| NBA basketball | Regular-season games, including late-night doubleheaders and some weekend games, plus selected NBA Cup and postseason games | Yes |
| DAZN (boxing, other sport) | Available as a paid add-on channel inside Prime Video | No, extra subscription |
| Premier League | No live matches from 2025/26; rights are with Sky Sports and TNT Sports | Not available |
Schedules change through the season, so check the Prime Video app’s sport section for the latest list of fixtures.
Champions League on Prime Video
Prime Video holds the first pick of the Tuesday night Champions League matches in the UK. For 2026/27 that means 17 exclusive matches, running from the league phase through to the semi-finals, according to a 2026/27 broadcast guide. If your club plays on a Tuesday and is a big draw, there is a good chance the match is on Prime.
TNT Sports remains the main live broadcaster this season, with most matches and the final. That changes from 2027/28, when Paramount+ takes over most UK live rights for four seasons. Prime Video keeps its Tuesday first pick for that period too, exclusively in the UK, as Broadcast reported. So a Prime membership stays relevant for Champions League fans beyond this season.
NBA on Prime Video
Prime Video began a long-term NBA deal in the UK in the 2025/26 season. That first season included dozens of regular-season games, late-night Friday doubleheaders, Saturday afternoon games, NBA Cup matches, the Play-In Tournament, a share of playoff games and the 2026 NBA Finals, according to Cord Busters.
Exactly which playoff rounds Prime carries can vary by year, so check the 2026/27 schedule in the app. Sky Sports also has an NBA deal, so some games will be there instead.
Prime Video Channels: DAZN and other add-ons
Prime Video Channels let you add other paid services to your Prime Video app and billing. DAZN has been available this way in the UK, which brings its boxing and other sport into the same app. This is a separate subscription on top of Prime, and the price is set by the channel, so check the current cost in the Prime Video app before subscribing.
Adding a channel through Prime is mainly about convenience: one app and one bill. It is not usually cheaper than subscribing to that service directly, so compare both.
What Prime Video UK does not show
- Live Premier League football: Prime showed matches in earlier seasons, but from 2025/26 the live rights are split between Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
- Most Champions League matches: TNT Sports has the majority this season, including the final.
- Sky Sports or TNT Sports channels: these need their own subscriptions, for example through Sky, NOW or HBO Max.
- Free highlights: Champions League highlights are on the BBC, not Prime.

Watching Prime Video sport on your TV
The Prime Video app is available on most smart TVs, games consoles and streaming sticks, including Amazon’s own Fire TV devices. For live sport, a stable connection matters more than headline speed; our explainer on stream buffering explains what to check if the picture keeps dropping.
Which option should you choose?
- You already have Prime: make the most of the Tuesday Champions League match and the NBA. They cost nothing extra.
- You want every Champions League match: you need TNT Sports this season as well, as Prime only has a selection of Tuesday matches.
- You mainly watch the Premier League: Prime will not help; look at Sky Sports and TNT Sports instead.
- You want to test it: use the 30-day trial during a Champions League week, and set a reminder to cancel if it is not for you.
