The cheapest way to watch SEC Network without cable is ESPN Unlimited, ESPN’s streaming plan, which included SEC Network for around $31.99 a month at the time of writing. Live TV streaming services such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling, Fubo and DirecTV also carry it in many plans. Because ESPN and ABC hold the SEC’s TV rights, plenty of the biggest SEC games also air on ABC, which you can watch free with an antenna.
Where SEC games air in 2026-27
Since 2024, the SEC’s media rights have sat with ESPN. That means SEC football and basketball games are spread across several Disney-owned outlets:
| Channel or platform | What it carries | Free? |
|---|---|---|
| ABC | Many top SEC football games and some basketball | Yes, with an antenna |
| ESPN and ESPN2 | Major SEC football and basketball games | No |
| SEC Network | Weekly football and plenty of basketball, other sports, studio shows | No |
| SEC Network+ | Streaming-only events, mostly non-revenue sports and extra basketball | No |
Late November is a good time to sort your setup out: rivalry week, the SEC Championship Game and a full basketball season are coming. For a wider look at college football across every conference, see our guide to the cheapest way to watch college football.
Option 1: ESPN Unlimited (cheapest for SEC Network)
ESPN Unlimited streams the ESPN cable networks directly in the ESPN app, with no TV provider needed. At the time of writing it cost around $31.99 a month or $319.99 a year and included ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network and ACC Network, plus the streaming-only content formerly sold as ESPN+.
It is the most direct route to SEC Network, and it also covers SEC games on ESPN and ESPN2. Bundles with Disney+ and Hulu, or with FOX One, are available if you want more than sports. Our ESPN streaming service guide covers the plans in detail.
Watch the plan name carefully: ESPN Select, the cheaper plan that replaced ESPN+, includes SEC Network+ streams but not the SEC Network channel itself.
Option 2: Live TV streaming services
If you want SEC Network alongside your local channels and a cloud DVR, a live TV service may suit you better. Channel lineups vary by plan and ZIP code, so check the channel lookup tool on each provider’s site.
- YouTube TV: SEC Network has been part of the main plan and of YouTube TV’s sports-focused plan.
- Hulu + Live TV: includes SEC Network and ESPN Unlimited content in the ESPN app.
- Sling: SEC Network sits in the Sports Extra add-on on the Orange side, at around $11 a month on top of the base plan.
- Fubo: carries SEC Network in its main plans.
- DirecTV: includes SEC Network in higher tiers, such as Choice and above.
These services typically cost $45 to $90 a month or more depending on plan, so they make sense if you are replacing cable altogether rather than just adding SEC Network. If you are deciding between a live TV service and an IPTV subscription, our IPTV vs YouTube TV comparison looks at the trade-offs.
Option 3: SEC games free on ABC
Many marquee SEC football games, and some basketball, air on ABC. With a good antenna and your local ABC station, those games cost nothing. Our guide to local channels without cable explains how to check reception and pick an antenna.
ABC will never give you the SEC Network channel itself, but if your team appears on ABC often, an antenna plus a few months of ESPN Unlimited during the season can be the cheapest combination.
What SEC Network+ is (and how to get it)
SEC Network+ is a streaming-only feed of extra SEC events, including many baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer and early-season basketball games. It is not a TV channel. You can watch it in the ESPN app with ESPN Select, ESPN Unlimited, or a TV provider login that includes SEC Network.
For dedicated fans of Olympic sports, ESPN Select alone may be enough. For football and most conference basketball, you will need the main SEC Network channel.
Setting up SEC Network on your TV
- Pick your source: ESPN Unlimited, or a live TV service that carries SEC Network.
- Install the ESPN app (and your live TV app, if you have one) on your Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, console or smart TV.
- Sign in with your MyDisney account. If you subscribe through a TV provider, link it inside the ESPN app.
- Search for SEC Network and add it to your favorites so it is easy to find on game day.
- Test the stream before kickoff, since big SEC Saturdays bring heavy traffic.
If you want a single year-round subscription for non-sports live TV as well, our IPTV Journal plan is 12 months for $89. For SEC games, stick with licensed sources like those above; unofficial SEC streams are unlicensed and unreliable on busy Saturdays.
Which SEC Network option should you choose?
For SEC Network at the lowest price, choose ESPN Unlimited. For SEC Network plus local channels and a DVR, choose a live TV service that lists it in your ZIP code. If you mostly watch the big ABC games, start with an antenna and add ESPN Unlimited only for the busiest months of football and basketball season.
