How to Watch Fox News Without Cable: Every Legal Option

Published: · Updated:

If you want to know how to watch Fox News without cable, the short answer is: subscribe to FOX One, the network’s own streaming app, or to a live TV service that includes Fox News Channel, such as Sling Blue, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo or DirecTV Stream. FOX One is usually the cheapest way to get the full live channel, at around $19.99 a month at the time of writing.

Pay $89 for a whole year, not $80+ a month

Unlike your local FOX station, Fox News is a cable network, so an antenna will not pick it up. Below you will find a price table, the free options that do exist, and tips for getting it running on your TV.

Which streaming services carry Fox News?

All of these services stream the live Fox News Channel feed in the United States. Prices are approximate and change often, so check each service’s site before you sign up.

ServiceApprox. monthly priceWhat else you get
FOX OneAround $19.99 (or $199.99/yr)Fox News, Fox Business, your local FOX station in many markets, FS1, FS2, Big Ten Network
Sling BlueAround $49.99Fox News plus CNN and other news and entertainment networks; local FOX in some markets for a small extra fee
YouTube TVAround $82.99Fox News, Fox Business, CNN, local ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS in most areas, unlimited DVR
Hulu + Live TVFrom around $82.99 with adsFox News, locals, ESPN networks, Disney+ and Hulu on demand
FuboAround $88.99 (Pro)Fox News, locals in most markets, sports-heavy lineup
DirecTV StreamVaries by packageFox News on its main packages, regional sports networks in many areas

If you only care about Fox content, FOX One is the obvious pick. If your household also wants CNN, local stations or sports, a full live TV service may work out cheaper than stacking several apps. Our FOX One streaming guide covers that app in more detail.

Option 1: FOX One, the direct route

FOX One launched in August 2025 and bundles the live feeds of Fox Corporation’s channels in one app. For news viewers, that means the live Fox News Channel, Fox Business and the local FOX station in many markets, with no cable login needed.

  • Price: around $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year at the time of writing.
  • Bundles: FOX One has been sold with ESPN Unlimited for around $39.99 a month, and with FOX Nation.
  • Contract: none, so you can cancel between news cycles or after an election season.

One point that confuses people: FOX Nation is not the live Fox News channel. It is a separate on-demand service with shows, documentaries and personalities from the Fox News family. If you want to watch what is on Fox News right now, you need FOX One or a live TV service.

Option 2: a live TV streaming service

A live TV service replaces the whole cable package. It makes sense if you want Fox News alongside other cable channels and your local stations in one guide.

  • Sling Blue is the cheapest full bundle that includes Fox News. It also carries CNN, which suits households where people watch different networks.
  • YouTube TV has the broadest set of local stations and a strong cloud DVR, which helps if you record evening shows.
  • Hulu + Live TV is handy if you already pay for Disney+ or Hulu, since they are included.
  • Fubo and DirecTV Stream lean toward sports and regional sports networks.

Can you watch Fox News for free?

Not the full live channel, at least not legally. Fox News is a paid cable network, and free sites that claim to stream it 24/7 are unlicensed. What you can watch for free:

  • LiveNOW from FOX: a free live news stream with breaking events, press conferences and raw coverage, available in the FOX apps and on several free streaming platforms.
  • FOX Weather: a free live weather channel.
  • Clips and highlights on Fox News’s website and official YouTube channel.
  • Your local FOX station over the air with an antenna, which gives you local news and national FOX programming (but not Fox News Channel).

Most live TV services also offer a free trial for new customers. Trials come and go, so check the sign-up page rather than relying on an old offer.

Device tips for streaming Fox News

FOX One and every service in the table above have apps for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, Apple TV, most smart TVs, phones and web browsers. A few practical tips:

  1. Install the app from your device’s official store, then sign in or subscribe on the provider’s website if the TV app does not take payment.
  2. If you already pay for a live TV service, open the FOX One or Fox News app and choose the TV provider sign-in. Many services unlock the live feed this way at no extra cost.
  3. Use a wired Ethernet connection or a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi signal for live news. Our guide to why IPTV streams buffer explains what to check if the picture keeps pausing.
  4. Older TV? A cheap streaming stick is usually a better experience than an outdated smart TV app.

What about IPTV services?

IPTV is simply TV delivered over the internet, which is how all of the services above work. Some third-party IPTV providers also sell channel packages that include news networks. The technology is legal, but services that rebroadcast channels without licenses are not, so check what a provider has the rights to before you pay and follow US law. If you are comparing an annual option, our own plan, IPTV Journal, is $89 for 12 months on promotion, or $40 for 3 months.

Which option should you choose?

  • Fox News only: FOX One, around $19.99 a month.
  • Fox News and CNN on a budget: Sling Blue.
  • Fox News plus all your local stations and DVR: YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV.
  • Free only: LiveNOW from FOX, FOX Weather and an antenna for local FOX.
